Abstract
This essay is based on the novels A Árvore das Palavras and Mayombe to try to establish a causal, circular and cyclical way of understanding violence as a means to literary and cultural construction. It articulates literary and anthropological conceptions to draft an idea of death that is not limited to its immanent perception, rather favoring a broader view of its transformative potential.
