Identity mobility in Oscar Nakasato ́s Nihonjinn

Abstract

This paper, which deals with the concepts of "de‑territorialization" and "re‑territorialization", attributed to Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari (1992), analyzes the movement towards "de(re)territorialization", denoting mobility in literature, in the novel Nihonjin (Benvirá, 2011) by Oscar Nakasato, Brazilian writer from Paraná´s State, Brazil, who won the 2012 Jabuti Prize. In formal terms, the novel shows the frontier where the narrator and the fictional agents displace themselves, with special emphasis on the construction of the narrated world, mainly the milieu and the linguistic system. On the thematic plane, the insertion of the characters into new territories, produced by the movement of the narrative action, is investigated.
