Abstract
As part of the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of Camões’ birth, I would rather present two satirical letters written by women in early modern period, still unpublished: “Letter sent by a nun to a given nobleman in answer to another he sent” (BNP COD.-8571, fol. 7r) and “Letter sent by a woman to her son because he has married stealthily” (BNP COD.-8571, fol. 26), to pursue an investigation about the century of Camões, aiming at forgotten cultural aspects that the great shadow of his magnetic work has cast over his time and culture in Portugal and abroad.
