Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in doc or docx file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text 1,5 spaced; uses a 12-point is Times New Roman font.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Veredas accepts unpublished articles, originating from original research related especially to literature, but including the dialogue with other cultural expressions, such as cinema, music, theater, plastic arts of Portuguese speaking countries. The journal is open to the most different theoretical-methodological approaches. Critical reviews of books of theory, criticism or literature published over the last three years are also received, as long as they relate to the scope of the journal.

Formatting guidelines:

File format: doc, docx or odt.

Language: Portuguese, Spanish or English.

Number of pages: minimum 10 and maximum 20 pages for articles; Maximum of 5 pages for reviews

Font: Times New Roman, 12-point, space 1,5

Author data: inform the formation; the main affiliation with city, state, country; ORCID iD; and e-mail for contact

Summary, title and keywords: in Portuguese, English and Spanish

Bibliographical references in the text: author-date system, with author's surname, year of the work and page, presented in parentheses, in the middle of the text. Ex: (Todorov, 1970, p. 37).

References: should be presented at the end of the text, according to ABNT standards.

 

General observations:

The reviews must be critical and bring new knowledge beyond the simple summary of a work. They should contain bibliographical references and the potential to receive citations. Due to the large number of submissions, Veredas accepts only authors with doctorate completed or in progress.

Dossier

This section receives articles that are aligned to a thematic dossier, as disclosed in a specific call for papers.
